Autumn equinox blessings
Now the season of autumn comes on stage.
Here at the Forest, we can feel the subtle shift in the seasons. The weather is cooling, the leaves are just starting to change, and the darkness greets us earlier in the evening.
We can use this threshold in the turning of the wheel of the year as a powerful checkpoint to tune in with nature and with ourselves.
Autumn is a season of surrender. It is a time of gratitude as death and plenty live side-by-side, as we begin to celebrate the harvest of our summer efforts and yet also acknowledge the falling away of life as the leaves drop from the trees. The sun begins tipping into the dark time of the year as it slides into winter.
The autumn equinox is a time of balance. Day and night are equal. It’s a time of culling and completion. We can review our relationships, our work, all aspects of our lives, and ask how they can continue to support and nourish us.
We can use this time to check in with ourselves, what has been completed, what projects or aspects of our lives aren’t worth putting any more energy into, what can we lay to rest? What can we invite in to bring more balance as we ready ourselves for the quietude of the winter ahead?
From the Forest, we wish you autumn blessings and beauty.
