Oblate Monthly Meeting

  • Osage Forest of Peace 141 Monastery Road Sand Springs, OK, 74063 United States (map)

The Sands Springs Oblates of St. Benedict that meet at the Osage Forest of Peace are affiliated with the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration at their Monastery in Clyde, Missouri. Sister Kathleen Clare OSB, is congregational oblate director and she occasionally travels to the Forest of Peace to hold retreats and instruct the Oblates.

The Oblates meet on the first Sunday of the month, September through May, at 1:00 p.m. in the Bede Building. There is no charge for the meeting, but the Forest gladly accepts donations. Visitors are always welcome to attend. For those who are interested in becoming an Oblate, there is a one-year candidate period of study, after which, if the candidate is ready, makes his or her oblation in a community ceremony to become an Oblate.

At the monthly meetings, oblates gather to study the Rule of Benedict and often engage in a book study.  For more information, contact the Oblate Dean Gale Clark at glclarkrdh@gmail.com
