We’d like to invite you on a treasure hunt where the pace is contemplative, and the real treasure is time spent in the Forest of Peace! Starting March 22nd, we will be hosting a year-long opportunity for our Forest friends to come out, walk around, and explore the peaceful atmosphere of our trails and facilities.

Each month, the Forest Stewards will be placing a special box somewhere on the property of the Forest of Peace and will leave a clue in our newsletter and on social media as to the whereabouts of that month’s box. Inside the box will be a notepad and a pen.

When you find the box, write your name and either a phone number or an email address on the pad, put it back in the box, and place the box back where you found it. Each month the box will move to a new location, with a new clue.

Each time you find the box somewhere new in the Forest and leave your name and contact information, you’ll be entered into a prize drawing that will happen during next year’s Spring Equinox celebration in 2025. The grand prize will be a free two-night stay at the Forest! Other prizes will be identified as the year progresses.

Here are the rules: 

1. Please be careful while participating, and follow all of our Forest policies.
2. When you arrive at the Forest, please fill out a Day Visitor registration form, located inside the front door of the Main House.
3. Walk carefully and stay on marked paths. The box will not be hidden off the path, and if the clue is a building, the box will be outside the building, rather than inside it.
4. This is on the honor system, so please only write down your name and contact information.
5. Each name/contact information entered constitutes one entry into the prize drawing.
6. There will be no box placement during the month of August, when the Forest is closed.
7. Anyone who finds the box and leaves their name every month (except August) will be eligible for an additional entry into the drawing, making a total of 12 possible entries.
8. The drawing will be conducted on Forest property during the Spring Equinox celebration in 2025. Participants need not be present to win.
9. There will be no cash equivalents given for prizes.
